The Frog in the Well

On the rich and colorful stage of campus culture, it's time for the weekly Chinese and English speech session in the 

Primary School Department of our school again! This week features an English speech. This activity focuses on the 

Chinese story - "The Frog in the Well". Let's take a look at how to "Tell Chinese Stories Well in English"!

在丰富多彩的校园文化舞台上，我校小学部每周的中英文演讲时间又到啦！本周是英文演讲。本次活动聚焦于中国故

事 ——《井底之蛙》。 “用英语讲好中国故事” 让我们一起来看看吧！

井底之蛙

At the beginning of the activity, the host emphasized to everyone the significance of telling Chinese stories in English 

and spreading Chinese culture. Then, the host cleverly introduced the protagonist of the story, the frog, by means of

 riddle-guessing, which successfully aroused the curiosity and anticipation of the audience.

活动伊始，主持人向大家强调了用英语讲述中国故事、传播中国文化的重要意义。随后，主持人通过猜谜语的方式巧妙

地引出了故事的主人公 —— 青蛙，成功地勾起了观众们的好奇心和期待。

故事开始啦！

Act 1: The Frog's Happy Life in the WellThe frog lives happily in a well. It chats with the shrimp, boasting about its fun in jumping,

leaning against the wall and playing in the mud.

第一幕：青蛙在井里的幸福生活青蛙在井里快乐地生活着。它与小虾闲聊，吹嘘自己蹦跳、倚着井壁，还有在泥里嬉闹时的种种乐趣。

Act 2: The Frog Meets the Crab

The frog sees the crab walking by. It asks if the crab can jump like it. Hearing no, the frog pities the crab for missing jumping fun.

第二幕：青蛙遇见螃蟹青蛙看到螃蟹从旁边经过。它问螃蟹是否能像它一样跳跃。听到螃蟹说不能，青蛙怜悯螃蟹错过了跳跃的乐趣。

Act 3: The Frog Argues with the BirdA bird rests on the edge of the well. The frog questions the bird's long flight. The bird says the 

sky is huge, but the frog insists the sky is as big as the mouth of the well.

第三幕：青蛙与小鸟争论一只小鸟落在井沿上。青蛙对小鸟长途飞行一事表示质疑。小鸟说天空广阔无垠，可青蛙却坚持认为天空

只有井口那么大。 

Act 4: The Frog Encounters the Turtle from the East Sea

A turtle from the East Sea comes to the well for water. The frog brags about its well. The turtle mentions its vast home. When trying to 

enter, the turtle gets stuck and describes the East Sea to the disbelieving frog.

第四幕：青蛙遇见东海的乌龟一只来自东海的长着巨壳的乌龟来到井边打水。青蛙吹嘘起自己的这口井。乌龟说起了自己那广阔的家园。

当乌龟试图进入井中时，却被卡住了，于是它向心存怀疑的青蛙描述起了东海的样子。

Act 5: The Frog Decides to Leave the WellConvinced by the turtle, the frog leaves the well. Astonished by the huge sky, it realizes the

 world is bigger than it has imagined and thanks the bird.第五幕：青蛙决定离开水井

青蛙被乌龟说服，离开了水井。看到广阔无垠的天空，它大为震惊，这才意识到世界比自己想象的要大得多，于是青蛙向小鸟表达了感谢 。

Through telling traditional Chinese stories in English, this activity not only enables students to learn English in a fun way, but also stimulates 

a deeper understanding and stronger interest in Chinese culture. Our school also encourages more students to take part in such activities 

and show their talents confidently.

通过用英语讲述中国传统故事，不仅让学生以有趣的方式学习英语，还激发了他们对中国文化更深入的理解和更浓厚的兴趣。我校还鼓励更

多学生参与此类活动，自信地展示自己的才华。
